Dieting

Well folks, I'm going on a diet. This is the first time in my life I've done this. I've seen/heard so many people yo-yo through diets and weight struggles but could never really relate. However, now I'm about 40 pounds over my personal comfort zone, so I thought I'd give it a whurl. I'm going with an all natural type eating plan discussed in the book Fit for Life.

On this my first day, I'm starting off at 157 lbs. I'd like to get down to the 110-120 lb area. If I lost anything more than that I think I'd be too skinny. Which is how I grew up and I don't care to go back to that again! I'd mostly just like to have more energy and fit into my cloths more comfortably again. I'm in no great hurry. But it would be nice if I could drop off those extra pounds before the end of the year and really feel like I was maintaining better eating habits and a more healthful routine in my life.

So that's the goal. Wish me luck. I may need it! LOL

Good Luck Cindy! I too have just started to seriously try loosing weight (though I need to lose more than 40 pounds :-( ) I'll be rooting for you!

Best of luck. I say go slow and steady, "all natural" sounds good. It's time for me to jump on that wagon again, too. Smoothies and salads will be increasing their visibility around here for a while.

Thanks gals for the encouragement. I lost 3 pounds in my first week. If I continue to lose at that slow rate I think it will be about right. Wouldn't mind bumping it up to 5 per week. But if I don't, I'll be okay with just 3 pounds per. I'm not in a hurry. I'd rather be safe, and then keep it off. Gotta watch those headaches you know! ;)
